The simple answer is to this question is normally no. Adding a conservatory to your house is considered to be a permitted development, which does not requiring an application for planning permission, this is providing certain limits and conditions are met. However if these limits and conditions are not met then conservatories fall under the same planning regulations as any extension or addition to a house. For more detailed information please visit www.planningportal.gov.uk.
